ABOVE: From Mosquito Pass pretty Heather Lake can be seen giving a class in meadow-making. In time this shallow lake will be filled in and given over to a meadow and trees until another glacier comes along and scoops out another bowl for the lake to sit in. These clear waters will be admired for many generations to come until then.

From Mosquito Pass you can see shallow meadow-fringed Heather Lake, and beyond, the peaks above Piute Canyon with the Pinnacles among them.
